How could coaching benefit me?

Coaching focuses on moving you forwards. It requires an acceptance towards identifying and committing to make changes where this will benefit you. 

Sometimes you might need to understand exactly where you are before you can move forwards, and I can help with that too. 

In a coaching session with me:

  • I will guide you to find your own answers
  • I will prompt you to think deeply and challenge your thoughts
  • I will provide a safe listening environment for you to speak freely and gain clarity
  • I will encourage you to bring the whole 'you' to each session
  • I will help you to align your goals to your values, and hold yourself accountable
  • I will help you to identify barriers and explore how to move past them
     

About me

I have worked in HR for 13 years and I am a Chartered member of the CIPD. I qualified in Professional Coaching in May 2024 having gained over 70 hours of coaching experience since June 2023. 

This is just the beginning for me - having qualified I am continuing to provide coaching via Nicola Somerville Coaching as I am truly passionate about how coaching can help empower others. Outside of work and coaching, I am happiest when found somewhere outdoors (as long as there's coffee available nearby) with my husband and two daughters.

Pricing

My sessions are primarily held online in the evenings - each session is one hour and is charged at £35 per session. We'll start with an introduction session (charged at £25) where we can discuss how we might work together and how many sessions you'd like.

The main thing I’ve learned that I’ll carry forwards in life, is to give myself time to reflect and assess. In work I have often found myself ploughing ahead without thinking properly, in an effort to meet deadlines etc., but in actuality it’s important to take time to plan. Nicola was very good at leading me towards answering my own questions or issues in our coaching sessions, and it made me realise that often I have the answer to most of my problems if I just take the time to think about it.

Having discussed loads of great tips, workflow practises and mental outlooks with Nicola, I now want to put all of these into practice and build up positive habits over time. I also now have a much clearer path of progression to work towards also.
